Eagle's Viewpoint
Eagle’s Viewpoint, nestled in Shanthipura — the highest village in Sri Lanka — is a newly inaugurated attraction that offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the island’s central highlands. Perched at approximately 6,182 feet (1,884 meters) above sea level, this spectacular viewpoint is rapidly becoming a must-visit destination for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers.

From Eagle’s Viewpoint, visitors are treated to a sweeping vista that captures the diverse beauty of both the Uva Province and the Central Highlands. Key highlights visible from this elevated perch include:

Developed for Sustainable Tourism
This viewpoint was officially opened to the public on January 26, 2025, as a joint initiative by the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. The project began in mid-2024 with the goal of enhancing sustainable tourism while showcasing the natural grandeur of the central highlands.
Designed with visitor experience and environmental harmony in mind, Eagle’s Viewpoint includes safety railings, paved paths, and informative signboards to enrich the visit without disturbing the natural ecosystem.
