Clausena indica (Meegon karapincha) ෴ මීගොන් කරපිංචා

Clausena indica also know as Meegon karapincha (?????? ???????) genus of flowering plants in the citrus family, Rutaceae, is a small tree or shrub with pubescent young parts. Leaves compound, extipulate, imparipinnate, large, 1-30 cm long; leaflets 7-13, shortly stalked, 3.7-8 cm long, very unequal at base. Inflorescences terminal panicles; flowers greenish-white, about 6-8 mm long. Fruit a small nearly globular berry, pink or cream-coloured, 1-2 cm long, gland dotted, with abundant pulp; seed solitary, green.

This genus is in the subfamily Aurantioideae, which also includes genus Citrus. It is in the subtribe Clauseninae, which are known technically as the remote citroid fruit trees.

Uses
Meegon karapincha is a tree used for its wood, and in traditional medicine. Also is used medicinally in Asia for a variety of conditions, including snakebite, malaria, dysentery, diarrhoea, and HIV infection. Some species, produce edible fruit. Wampi is cultivated as a fruit tree, and though it is only a remote relative of citrus, it can be grafted to various citrus trees. There are sour, sweet, and intermediate varieties of lansium.
